The ‘Let's Share a Smile’ Foundation named after Krystian Popiel is made up of exceptional people. They include Krystian's relatives as well as specialists: psychologists, lawyers, accountants and former athletes. The Foundation's four-person Board of Trustees is the backbone of its operations, supported by a large Foundation Team and the Foundation Council.
FOUNDATION BOARD
AGNIESZKA POPIELA - President (voluntary function)
Mum of the late Krystian, the Foundation's namesake. It is from her that we can draw strength and inspiration. The tragedy that turned her life upside down will always remain a wound in her heart. In spite of the pain, she continues to move forward, and she transforms her maternal suffering into goodness by running the Foundation. It is not easy after Krystian's death, but running the Foundation gives Agnieszka the feeling that the memory of our Krystian will live on.
JAROSŁAW POPIELA - Member of the Board of the Foundation (voluntary function)
Jarosław Popiela is a former Polish football player, father of the late Krystian Popiela, but also founder of the ‘Let's Share the Smile’ Foundation. Privately, he is the husband of Agnieszka Popiela and father of Alex and Ksawier. Jarosław Popiela is a man with a big heart, for whom helping others is a priority.
AGNIESZKA LIS - Member of the Foundation Board (voluntary function)
Krystian's godmother. She will never be indifferent to human injustice. She treats each of the Foundation's charges like her own family. Nothing is impossible for her. After every failure she gets up stronger and full of new ideas. She infects everyone with her enthusiasm. Privately, she is Tomek's wife and Nathan's mother, whom she supports tirelessly on his sporting journey.
ŁUKASZ POPIELA - Member of the Foundation's Management Board. Deals with fundraising, coordination of the Foundation's activities and organisation of financial support from donors.
He has been involved with the Foundation since its inception. His greatest aim is to support the wards and make their sporting dreams come true.
Privately, uncle of the foundation's namesake and also dad of little Krystian. Brother of Agnieszka and Jarosław. He has been involved in football for 30 years. He played for such clubs as Unia Tarnów, Siarka Tarnobrzeg, Stal Rzeszów, Puszcza Niepołomice.
THE FOUNDATION COUNCIL
NADZIEJA NIKIEL - Member of the Foundation Council, psychologist (voluntary functions)
She sits on the Board of the Foundation, but also acts as a psychologist within it. She performs both of these functions out of the need of her heart - pro bono. For her charitable work, she was awarded a Big Heart statuette by the local community.
She is a well-educated person: she studied psychology at the College of Social Psychology, completed a four-year therapeutic training certified by the Scientific Section of Psychotherapy and the Scientific Section of Family Therapy of the Polish Psychiatric Association. She also holds a degree in history from the University of Szczecin. She is an elementary and high school teacher and psychologist. She runs therapeutic classes for children from Ukraine.
Nadzieja is a person sensitive to injustice. She is not indifferent to human problems. Privately, Misia's mum and Radek's wife - together with them she supports the Foundation's activities.
AGATA KOZIEL-SAŁATA - Member of the Foundation Council
Privately a mother of Marysia and Frania, wife of Michael, with whom she strongly supports our Foundation. An extremely empathetic person and sensitive to human needs. Involved in charitable activities. She is always there when help is needed. A woman with a big heart who supports others selflessly.
BOGDAN ZAJĄC - Member of the Council of the Foundation
Former footballer, player of many Polish and foreign clubs. Polish national football representative. With the Wisła Kraków team, a multiple winner of the Polish Championship and Polish Cup in football. Participated in the finals of the European Championships and the World Championships. He is a role model for many young athletes who admire his skills and commitment. After his football career ended, he became a coach. He served as an assistant to the selector of the Polish National Team - Adam Nawałka.
Bogdan is a man with a big heart who is keen to help others. He has been involved with the Foundation since its inception.
THE FOUNDATION TEAM
RADOSŁAW NIKIEL - Member of the Foundation Team, lawyer (voluntary functions)
A lawyer with over thirty years of professional experience. He was the first to extend a helping hand to us, providing the necessary legal advice. His law firm took care of all the formalities so that the Foundation could exist. He is always there to help us and still supports the Foundation today.
Privately, he is a wonderful dad to Misi and Olga and husband to our foundation friend Hope. Radek loves sports - there is probably no sport he is not interested in. He loves skiing and travelling, and music is his passion.
MARCIN CHRAPUSTA - Member of the Foundation Team, graphic designer (voluntary functions)
A member of the Foundation family, he has been involved with the Foundation since its inception. He is the author of many initiatives, a graphic designer, a handyman and an ‘imaginative Dobromir’. He is always there to help and nothing is impossible for him.
Privately, he is the husband of Sylwia, with whom he is raising two promising goalkeepers of the young generation: Piotrek and Kuba.
PAWEŁ TYNIEC - Member of the Foundation Team, lawyer (voluntary functions)
He is always there to offer us her advice and support. He deals with all legal issues that concern the Foundation.
Paweł specialises in commercial and company law, copyright law and IT law. He has extensive merits in the field of litigation, enforcement and security proceedings. Author of press publications in the field of Internet law.
Privately: motorcyclist, keen sailor, fan of historical and travel literature.
MONIKA WALIGÓRA - Foundation Team Member, Accountant (voluntary functions)
She stands guard over our finances. She has been with us since the Foundation's inception. She has offered to help us with the financial and accounting issues without being paid for it.
Privately: wife of Marek, mother of Hania and Szymon, a promising footballer. Monika and her husband support the Foundation, also getting involved in campaigns supporting our charges. They are big-hearted people we can count on! Monika loves travelling, skiing, music and, of course, football (she faithfully supports her son).
